Hmm - assumes that the first to see them while pissed and in
possession of sufficient public spiritedness to report them are going
the other way? :-)

Needess to say, counting down to some GOOSE politician threatening
them with "obstructing a police officer in the course of their duty"
retaliation.

Sorta like selling bullet proof vests really, ain't it.

agreed, 80kmh in a 60zone is ludicrous, especially when its well sealed, no
houses accessing onto it, and theres very little traffic around. thats
insane.

Well people who drink then drive and are still going to drink then
dive, but instead of them having to go through the back streets, where
your family may be, they will stick to the main streets.

Has it's pros and cons, just like everything else.

**Why do you think it is a good idea to warn drunken fools of booze bus
locations? Those criminal arseholes need to be locked up, along with anyone
who try's to help them escape.

Oh goodie - a fully-fledged moron to play with!!

Next week, it's the speeders.
The week after, it's the red light runners.
Eventually, it's the smokers, and then the farters.

Lock up all the AFL footballers, and you get the rest at no extra charge. So

**Are you fucking serious? There is NO COMPARISON between minor traffic
infringements and the actions of disgusting CRIMINAL drunk drivers. They
SHOULD be charged with attempted murder and locked up. How anyone could
think it a good idea to assist drunk drivers from escaping justice is a
complete mystery to me. How do you justify your position?

Are you by any chance confusing drink driving (over the arbitrary
limit -- which isn't a criminal offence) with drunken driving?

The two are completely different IMHO... to the extent that various
authorities in various countries can't even agree on the arbitrary
limit. It varied from 0.05 to 0.08 g/100ml throughout Australia in
the not too distant past.

It also happens that the very worst driver I've ever known (with a
crash record to match) was a Wesleyan wowser who regularly preached
the evils of the demon drink, and drunken drivers... even after he
managed to run down and kill a female motorcyclist while stone cold
sober. Consequently they were only able to charge him with driving
without due care.

I've known drunks who drove better.

**I didn't realise that we were discussing the hopeless driving competency
tests which are extant in some areas and at some times in our history. Crap
drivers should NEVER be allowed to drive in the first place.

We weren't... it's just that you chose to evade the question and

Wonder what your opinion would be Toby when someone who is inocently
driving along drunk, slams into you, totals your car and puts you the
hospital spinal unit

Geeze ya don't think that could be in the "Master Plan" do ya???

Locally, they only use six spots for the booze buses and speed enforcement.
And they are far from random - you can guarantee they'll be at one
particular spot on Thurs & Sat nights, and at the other spot further down
the highway for Fri & Sun nights. Not hard to get around or slow down for.

I have no problems with avoiding speed cameras and I am anti 'random stopping' at booze bus location BUT if you are over
the limit by a reasonable amount - I hope you get caught!

Isn't that the same for those over the speed limit by a "reasonable" amount?

Pretty easy in Perth though.... if it is raining they'll be on Roe St under
the freeway flyover........ only dry spot with traffic volume.............
wasn't obvious enough for me a few years back though ;-)
