I was, back in the 70s. It created undercurrents in other Moslem
countries - like Indonesia where I was working. It still does!

Had it not been for conflict in the Middle East, I would have ended up
there instead of making an unintended stopover in Thailand which
resulted in me meeting my future (and current) wife. So I can safely say
the ongoing Middle East conflict(s) changed my direction and, I must
say, for the better.

A couple of hours ago I was visiting a Moslem Couple in Park Beach, one
of many such couples I know.

That's the question that no one can answer and the reason why there is
conflict in the region and very likely always will be.
With Israel encroaching on Palestinian land its not difficult to
understand why the Palestinians are pissed off but no guarantee that
getting rid of the current Israeli leadership will change anything.
Not impossible that moderate leaders will appear on both sides who will
calm the situation but I wouldn't recommend holding your breath waiting
for that to happen.

when you said "use your brains". no problem. but you added "if you

If 'being taken seriously' is important to you then I've some bad news
for you felix. You've self-destructed over this issue and I doubt that
*anyone* will ever take you seriously again.

I'm not going to argue with you, not just because you don't appear to
"think", but also because of your nasty habits of using shedloads of
logical fallacies and, worst of all, of toddling off when things are
going against you. I expect that from the gormless cowards in DATE, but
you've always proclaimed yourself as a reasonable, intelligent and
articulate debater. Alas, like most of your 'arguments' here, reality
disagrees with that self-assessment. Leave you to it.
