Doesn't look like much has changed, brands have changed a bit but the
top 10 is still either utes or SUV's.
Interesting that the Corolla's etc is still considered "small" when they
are now bigger than the first Commodore and bigger than my 2002 C240
which was classed as a medium car back in its day.

Impertinent question, but, if you really need to know for some obscure
reason - I use solid shaving soap with a nice natural bristle shaving
brush, and a Gillette Fusion razor. The blades are quite expensive , but
they work well, last well, and I can afford them.

Is there a cheaper part now?
What a silly naive person you are believing the crap that alvey posts,
he obviously doesn't have a clue, so just makes stuff up. I do not in
fact even live on the Sunshine Coast at all. When I drive there,
probably 29 minutes into the drive, I pass a sign that says "Sunshine
Coast 44Km".

I wouldn't want to live there these days anyway, it's getting too
crowded, and the traffic can get pretty horrendous at times. Don't even
try going to Noosa on the weekend, you'll need a taxi from the nearest
parking to the beach. It's a pity, the Coast used to be a pleasant
place, but they are throwing up cookie cutter little boxes on 450 sqm
blocks as fast as they can these days, it will be as bad as the Gold
Coast soon.

I wouldn't want to live there these days anyway, it's getting too
crowded, and the traffic can get pretty horrendous at times. Don't
even try going to Noosa on the weekend, you'll need a taxi from the
nearest parking to the beach. It's a pity, the Coast used to be a
pleasant place, but they are throwing up cookie cutter little boxes on
450 sqm blocks as fast as they can these days, it will be as bad as
the Gold Coast soon.

obscure reason - I use solid shaving soap with a nice natural
bristle shaving brush, and a Gillette Fusion razor. The blades are
quite expensive , but they work well, last well, and I can afford them.

What a silly naive person you are believing the crap that alvey
posts, he obviously doesn't have a clue, so just makes stuff up. I
do not in fact even live on the Sunshine Coast at all. When I drive
there, probably 29 minutes into the drive, I pass a sign that says
"Sunshine Coast 44Km".
I wouldn't want to live there these days anyway, it's getting too
crowded, and the traffic can get pretty horrendous at times. Don't
even try going to Noosa on the weekend, you'll need a taxi from the
nearest parking to the beach. It's a pity, the Coast used to be a
pleasant place, but they are throwing up cookie cutter little boxes
on 450 sqm blocks as fast as they can these days, it will be as bad
as the Gold Coast soon.
when I was surfing at Noosa in the sixties we used to walk across the
vacant land in the main street to the beach
Good luck with that today, you'd have to fight your way though the
crowds in Hastings Street on a weekend or during the holidays.

Nope. The Mazda 3 is coming up to 9 years old, so is still in grade
3. OTOH, the MX-5 is 33 years old so has done high school, college,

brush, and a Gillette Fusion razor. The blades are quite expensive , but

I wouldn't want to live there these days anyway, it's getting too
crowded, and the traffic can get pretty horrendous at times. Don't even
try going to Noosa on the weekend, you'll need a taxi from the nearest
parking to the beach. It's a pity, the Coast used to be a pleasant
place, but they are throwing up cookie cutter little boxes on 450 sqm
blocks as fast as they can these days, it will be as bad as the Gold
Coast soon.

Nope. The Mazda 3 is coming up to 9 years old, so is still in grade 3.
OTOH, the MX-5 is 33 years old so has done high school, college, and
university getting a PhD in motoring pleasure, then spending many years
since putting smiles on the faces of her drivers.
LOL, including you I know 4 people who own MX5's and they all say that
they are great cars.

though, I used to be able to climb to the dish itself (about 23 metres
up) in less than a minute. We used to work up there with no safety gear
at all, I couldn't do that now.

even try going to Noosa on the weekend, you'll need a taxi from the
nearest parking to the beach. It's a pity, the Coast used to be a

on 450 sqm blocks as fast as they can these days, it will be as bad
as the Gold Coast soon.

Nope. The Mazda 3 is coming up to 9 years old, so is still in grade
3. OTOH, the MX-5 is 33 years old so has done high school, college,
and university getting a PhD in motoring pleasure, then spending many
years since putting smiles on the faces of her drivers.
LOL, including you I know 4 people who own MX5's and they all say that
they are great cars.
You don't need a huge amount of power for enjoyable driving if the car
is light and nimble, besides I like fresh air.
Many people seem to miss the point of what makes a good sports car,
you just need enough power to have some fun, you don't need huge HP.
When I drive my Boxster with the top down it becomes the next level of
driving enjoyment.

1. 10 year warranty
2. 10 year free roadside assist
3. not buying other ppls problems
4. getting the current model

what's the problem with the Mazda 3, if you don't mind me asking?
Even though the Mazda 3 is a combustion start, it still has a starter
motor. That siad, it isn't quite a normal starter being ruggedised as
well as intelligent. It is there only to guarantee an engine start and
can be quite harsh when starting. Benz are similarly harsh on IC engine
startup.

To me, it seems that function would have been better served by a dyna
starter, a starter/generator. These devices are always connected to the
engine and function as a generator under normal conditions. But their
function can be reversed electrically and they become a motor. When they
function as a motor, since they are direct coupled. they can be used to
start the engine.

It's what Toyota have done with hybrids since the days of the Prius.
They already have electric drive motors (MG1 & MG2) that function as
motors when propelling the car and as generators when coasting so a very
small step to enable them to be used to *smoothly* start the IC engine.

BTW, my first experience with a dyna starter was on the Haflinger.
