Had a ball, although we were blown out a few days. Bought home 9 crays
(caught 56 over 3 pulls with 4 pots), 6 xxxl garfish, a stonker 540mm
King George whiting, couple of nice snapper fillets... had a ball on the
Sambo's, had a decent arguement with what we presume was a decent shark
(bit through a 80lb leader), and a few stingrays supplied some laughs.

Currently a big bushfire going in western Vic, I got several pics from
above, inc the pyrocumulonimbus clouds.

Yeah, the smoke was blocking out the sun on Friday. Not bad today. Don't
know about yesterday as I was over the other side of town for most of
the afternoon.

**Get used to more and more severe bushfires.

Nothing astonishes Noddy so much as common sense and plain dealing.

I'd expect that there might be more but less severe fires simply because
we have become far better at stopping them a lot quicker with fire
fighting aircraft and techniques getting better and better.
Also quicker reporting of fires means quicker response which is the best
way to stop them becoming severe.
This year its been particularly dry in Vic, this time last year we were
experiencing heavy rain, we had 62mm on Christmas Eve last year, I don't
see anything particularly unusual in the weather pattern this year, its
usually pretty dry in Dec, last year being wet was unusual.
I have a rain gauge and I record the rain data daily in a spreadsheet so
its not difficult to observe the local rain patterns over the 5yrs I've
been here.

**True, but the technology cannot keep up with the incidence and
severity of fires.

Remember Black Saturday?
Remember the 2019 - 2020 bushfires in NSW?

Not good, a couple of days ago it was rather smokey around here and the
sky was an odd colour.
