Yeah man, this is a breath of fresh air.

For too long have these eka war machines clogged the roads and parking

These oozing-testosterone wagons are one up on the "Pajeros", another

Tell us about yours, shit-fer-brains... you know, your "school" where
your best subject was "ag" and you learnt fuck all...

"All information per a friend who is a seismic survey navigator, now
retired, who spent a lifetime navigating seismic survey vessels all over
the worlds oceans in search of oil." 03/04/17 1.29pm

and then, in the space of 1 hour 10 mins, he passes it off as his knowledge:

"New found knowledge? Ocean currents, winds, etc. was something I learnt
at school, both primary and high school. Geography, remember that?"
03/04/17 2.40pm

remembering Tommy's scholastic efforts: "Agriculture was my best subject
at school so maybe I should have been a farmer! ;-)" 16/08/15; yet didnt
know what a calf feeder is, didnt know what tractor hydraulics were,
thought cotton wool came from sheep... it's no wonder his knowledge of
ocean and coastal currents is, well, bizarre!

You are a disaster. You purport to be some sort of teacher, yet you show
continually to be nothing but a loud-mouthed failure. A loser. A joke.

Have you ever thought you may stop embarrassing yourself? I doubt it.
You cant help yourself.... Pathetic, Tomas. Truly pathetic.

You have that so wrong Darren. In fact *you* precipitated that by
pressuring Jonz to reveal he hadn't completed his apprenticeship - and
Jonz blamed me for the reveal. At least Jonz *qualified* to enrol in an
apprenticeship, you never did. You simply didn't cut the mustard -
educationally or in any other way, then and ever after - which is why
your life became a litany of lies.

So how about proof of your claims Darren? The biggies being 3
apprenticeships, 2 trade qualifications and an automotive business
ownership in the *Slough Estate of Altona*. Funny how no *official*
records exist, not even in government archives.

As usual another plan by the commo's without much thought, the

never going to be sold in big numbers simply because they are very

The imbecile Greens should actually learn how to read the science.
https://www.csiro.au/en/research/environmental-impacts/climate-change/climate-change-qa/sources-of-co2#:~:text=Australia%20is%20the%20world's%2014th,the%20National%20Greenhouse%20Gas%20Inventory.

According to above Australia's contribution to global emissions is "just
over 1%".
21% of that 1% is from "transport" and emissions from private vehicles
is less than half of the 21% from all transport so if every private
vehicle in Australia suddenly became zero emission vehicles overnight
the net reduction in emissions would be so tiny that it would very
difficult to measure.

I've been saying this for some time. There is virtually nothing we can
do in this country that is going to make any appreciable difference to
the "climate emergency", and as long as countries like China, India,
Russia and the US continue to collectively spew out more planet killing
emissions in a single day than we do in a year we are completely wasting
our time doing a single fucking thing.

It's that simple.

The only "simple" here Fraudster is you.

As per your 'imbecilic' mate Deryl, there are more issues around
Hulksters than simply emissions. Resource wastage, fuel inefficiency,
pedestrian safety, creating slaloms on suburban roads cos the fuckers
won't fit in the garage etc etc. And my main bugbear, general road
safety. For example... There's a house nearby on a T intersection which
I go straight past. Until recently this was without drama, but a couple
of weeks ago it changed hands and the new owners park their *two*
Hulksters on the road close (but legally) to the corner on the road I'm
on. The result is that now I have to creep past them because they block
my view of anything entering from the LH side road. And then there's car
parks...

Nah Darren, the Rangers are retard mobiles, built for small men with
inferiority complexes - small men like you, hey?

Hmmm, not sure I'd 100% agree with that. The Japanese utes and tabletops
are much better suited as tradie utes as they are *not* car based. The
Commodore and Falcon based utes, unless of the 1 ton variety, don't have
sufficient ground clearance or load capacity. In fact, most of the utes
of that ilk seem to have been lowered for *looks*, not *work*. My mate's
1 ton Falcon tabletop ute is well and truly laden full time with all his
plumbing gear. Standard Falcon ute wouldn't cut the mustard.

That's a minor variation on the idiot Trumps', "Putin can do what he

Public forum Darren, you don't get to dictate who can or cannot post

course, there are all your lies, bullshit and self aggrandising fake

Speaking of your claims, how about some proof Darren? After all, you
initially spouted them to give yourself some *street cred* here so you
now owe it to the posters here to back those claims with proof - real proof!

one a Ranger towing a big trailer and the other is one of those Chinese
things, the builders should just tow a trailer behind a push bike.
The idea that some people should have a say in what *other* people
choose to drive is utterly preposterous, but it becomes totally
nonsensical when their own choices are called into question.

Take Trevor's choice of rides for example. To my knowledge he owns a
Subaru Levorg and an old Nissan Stagea, and if I remember correctly he
wanted small'ish wagons as he needed a degree cargo carrying capacity
for his audio equipment business. Fair enough, but there were better
choices of wagons around at the time if a wagon was the all important
selection criteria, but he didn't *want* those.

But he has *two* wagons. He can only ever drive one at a time, and I
dare say his business isn't busy enough that he needs both of them on
the road carrying freight 24/7. In fact, if he's like 99.99% of other
people the majority of his vehicle use is spent with his arse on the
driver's seat and the rest of the vehicle being empty (when the other
one is parked up doing absolutely nothing) which would be a pretty good
case for someone to argue that his vehicles spend the overwhelming bulk
of their time *not* being used as the manufacturer intended.

Odd, huh?

Of course, if he was *really* as concerned about the effects of personal
vehicle choice on other road users as he likes to make himself out to be
then he doesn't need to have a wagon at all. He could have a scooter for
those times when it's just his bum on the seat and hire a wagon when he
actually needed it, or at the most he could have something like a Toyota
Yaris with a tow bar and have a small trailer that he hooks up when he
needs to carry a load of audio equipment. That would meet 99.99% of his
driving needs, and I'm guessing the stuff he occasionally carries around
is more about physical bulk than it is weight, so a Yaris with a trailer
would be fine. He could also get rid of the Stagea which compared to
anything made in the last 5 years would have totally shithouse safety
and emissions capabilities.

But he doesn't do any of that, because that's not what he *wants* to do.

He wants to do what he *likes*, which is perfectly fine, but for some
bizarre reason known only to him and others with the same remarkably
blinkered view that freedom of choice *isn't* a privilege that should be
automatically extended to anyone else, and *that's* the massive
contradiction that makes these people look like fruitcakes.

Every single person who criticises someone else's personal choice when
it comes to vehicles does so while enjoying the very freedom of choice
that they themselves criticise others for having.

As I said. It's bizarre. And what makes it ridiculously funny is that
the whingers don't see it :)

touch with reality people can be.

everyone else here combined.
Post by Noddy
The idea that some people should have a say in what *other* people
choose to drive is utterly preposterous, but it becomes totally
nonsensical when their own choices are called into question.
Crikey that's badly written. Even allowing for the fact that the author
is a raving loony. What is "it" that becomes "nonsensical"? (Aside from
sense)

Tell you what Fraudster! I'm a huge fan of Boudica (A British tribes'
queen who led an unsuccessful revolt against the Romans in about 60
BCE), and would like to emulate her chariot and fix sharp blades to my
cars hubcaps. Is that OK with you?
Post by Noddy
Odd, huh?
Your 'argument'? I'd opine it's much closer to 'bizarre'.
Post by Noddy
It doesn't appear to have dawned on Fraudster that audio equipment
doesn't play well with water. Never mind Fraudster. You weren't making
sense anyway.
Post by Noddy
Your 'reasoning'? It sure is. Nutty as silo of macadamias.

I don't know what rock you are hiding under but utes based on cars
are dinosaurs that you can no longer buy, generally speaking most of
them are less fuel efficient than modern Jap utes, only exception
would be the older utes than ran on LPG and those are getting rare.
**Not my point. Tradies did perfectly well with such vehicles for many
years.
Not today.
Maybe, just maybe mind you, traditional utes are no longer available
because people really wanted something else, and as soon as it became
available they stopped buying them :)

Trev already stated what most utes *aren't used for* - their original
design intent. The *factory* design intent was for the ute to be a
*light commercial vehicle* but the confusion arises when you look at the
marketing spiel. That seems to be aimed at something quite different
and, for the most part, that spiel seems to be aimed at people with
small penises, people like you. You know the type, people who don't have
a business case for a ute, who don't have a justification for a 4x4
because they never go off road, who just use a ute for general

https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/system/files/media/documents/2024/mbfeb2024_01032024.pdf
I looked for data to see what I could find on the subject, I typed into
Google "pedestrian deaths by vehicle type" but didn't find anything
conclusive for Australia.
There was some research in the US suggesting that that if a pedestrian
is hit by a higher vehicles they are more likely to be seriously or
fatally injured but since we have very few US style vehicles in
Australia and our road rules are very different to those in the US so
the US data is not relevant here.
Might change if large numbers of US pickups are sold here but that seems
very unlikely.
In the above pdf doc page 6 it seems that the majority of pedestrian
deaths still involves "cars", light commercial vehicle involved in
pedestrian deaths are approx half the number involving "cars".
I didn't see anything in the report that defined what a car is but most
likely it includes smaller SUVs.
When I was a kid I was taught how to cross a road and not get hit by a
car, maybe we should educate people on taking responsibility for their
own actions and not just blame someone else, in a very high number of
pedestrian accidents the fault is with the pedestrian yet somehow its
the responsibility of car makers and drivers to do something about it
which seems rather fucked up to me.

Lot of money to spend *just* to do that, isn't it? You sure that's
all he does with it, or is it all you *think* he does?
**It sits there all day on weekdays. The truck goes out on weekdays. I
see the RAM at the local shopping centre or on school pickups. That's
it. It looks nice and shiny all the time.
So, you see it every time it gets used, or just occasionally?

Either way, what does it have to do with you?
**The RAM is dangerous to pedestrians and occupies insane amounts of
space in the local shopping centre car park. It doesn't fit within the
bounds of a standard parking space.
Here's a free tip: *every* vehicle on the road is "dangerous" to
pedestrians, and people have been killed from being struck by a push
bike. I can also guarantee you that I will see someone in a regular car
parked like a complete *cunt* every time I go to my local shopping centre.
Still, what any of that has to do with you is a complete mystery.

**Good question. I have no fucking idea. They seem to be mostly used
for shopping and school pickups.
Riiiiight. So you admit to having no idea what the original design
intent of the vehicles in question actually is, but through some
magic fuckery known only to you you know that "most" don't seem to be
used for the intended purpose.
I don't know how you do that. It clearly takes a special skill :)
**I see a huge number of the the things at school pickup and drop off
and at the local shops. Whilst doing those things, they are not being
used for work purposes. They are just taking up space and risking the
lives of pedestrians.
Where is it written *anywhere* that any ute has to be used for "work
purposes"? I don't work, and my ute spends most of it's time moving my
fat arse around or dropping kids off at school and if that's all you saw

Hooning is already illegal and penalties can be severe. There is
no penalty for monster trucks masquerading as utes.
Why does there need to be?
**Asked and answered. They kill more pedestrians. They are fucking
dangerous.
Again I ask you, how do you know this? Can you show a direct
correlation between an increase in pedestrian deaths in this country
with the introduction of these large American pick up trucks going on
sale here?
**
https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/vehicles-with-higher-more-vertical-front-ends-pose-greater-risk-to-pedestrians
Do you have anything local Trev?
Any current 4x4 ute has a high bonnet profile and poor visibility out
front. Most utes on sale *here* are therefore at higher risk factors.
These risk factors are *worsened* when the poseurs *jack the utes up*,
ostensibly seeking greater ground clearance for off-roading - something
most will never see. Any jacking raises the CofG and increases the risk
of rollover on the highway.

What are you doing hanging around school pick up areas to make such

If your observation skills were as good as you claim you should have
noted that vehicle type isn't the problem at school pick ups, having
managed a school cleaning business for 25yrs plus having 2 sons and 2
school age Grand Kids I've spent a lot of time around schools and my
observation is that the biggest problem isn't the vehicles its the
drivers, they always seem to be impatient and in a hurry and that
doesn't vary with vehicle type.
I recently picked up my oldest grand son from school, the car park was
small with only about 25 cars, the majority of vehicles were small SUV's
and hatchbacks, out of 25 there may have been 5 utes and I was driving
by far the biggest ute, I had spent the day with my mate from Qld and
the only vehicle available to me was his 79 series Landcruiser.

Try finding data on pedestrian deaths and vehicle type, its not easy to
find anything recent.

Same here. I'll pick my kid up from school if I'm in the area at around
the right time and that's not often, but whenever I do most of the cars
there seem to be a mix of sedans, SUVs's (a term I fucking *hate) and
people mover vans. In fact utes of any variety are definitely the
minority, and there are usually more vans than utes.

It's always difficult trying to relate US data to here, as they have
different vehicle regulations, different laws, and a *way* different mix
of mainstream vehicles. As I said in another post, if there was any
correlation between the introduction of American utes on Aussie roads
with a rise in pedestrian fatalities then I could certainly accept that
they represent an increased risk, but no such data apparently exists
which tells me that the theory is exactly that and nothing more.

It's also important to bear in mind that not everything with a high
bonnet represents an increased risk, and I presented ANCAP data a couple
of months ago which showed that in pedestrian tests things like Ford
Rangers and Toyota Hilux's actually had a better overall pedestrian
safety rating than some common cars with bonnet heights that were
significantly lower. Of course, the haters will cherry pick those
results to create a false narrative while offering nothing to support
their own claims.

As they usually do....

Darren is too stupid to realise that data applies equally in *any* area
of the world. Design of the frontal area of *cars* was modified to
minimise pedestrian injuries. Commercial vehicles, including utes, were
not subject to such design changes. Even if they were, the trend to
fitting bull bars to utes mitigates any advantages gained in front end
design with respect to accident amelioration.

Yeah man, this is a breath of fresh air.
For too long have these eka war machines clogged the roads and parking
spaces.
These oozing-testosterone wagons are one up on the "Pajeros", another
road blocker driven by Frigid Midgets with Rigid Digits, to the angst
of all other drivers.
Tax 'em to hell..!
Nope. That's way too lenient. I'd have 'em put into the
crusher. Ideally with their mouth-breathing owners locked inside.

**Can't argue with that idea.
After we get rid if all the diesel utes don't expect any tradies
to come and fix anything at your house or business, are they
going to carry their tools on their backs.
**Bullshit. For decades tradies used real utes, based on
Commodores and Falcons with enormous success.
I don't know what rock you are hiding under but utes based on cars
are dinosaurs that you can no longer buy, generally speaking most
of them are less fuel efficient than modern Jap utes, only
exception would be the older utes than ran on LPG and those are
getting rare.
**Not my point. Tradies did perfectly well with such vehicles for
many years. Modern, monster utes, for the most part, fulfill a
purpose that doesn't exist. My local shopping centre is full of the
things. They are EMPTY. The local school pickup zone is clogged with
the damned things. They are EMPTY. For the most part, they are not
used for the alleged purpose they were designed for. One of the
local builders has a monster RAM truck. It sits on the road most
days and he takes his 10 Tonne truck to work. Like most of the ute
buyers, he is just a wanker. And yes, he also has a Merc sedan. And
a fucking huge boat.

Both the Hiace and "proper truck" are as big if not bigger than

their original design intent. They are just used for shopping of
collecting the kids from school.

**Why? Jap cars are robust, reliable and generally cheap to run.
Fucking illegal dangerous junk, their owners should be shot on the
spot and their cars crushed.
**You don't like reliable, economical and safe vehicles
Although it's impossible to be sure, I *think* Deryl was trying to be funny.

**Possibly. Since he owned a WRX, I can only assume he was trying to
suggest that he is a dickhead. Or was a dickhead and, by some kind of
magical process, he no longer is?
He's always been a dickhead, which is why he bought a WRX. That's not to
say all WRX owners are dickheads, but Daryl is as dumb as a box of
hammers and probably the most naive person that's ever been part of this
group. So if the shoe fits...
Yup, worked his way down to *cleaner*, then failed at that!

Maybe they should ban fishing?
Your fellow Communists at Yarra Council whose rubbish started this
thread are stating that the reason they want to increase parking fees
for heavy vehicles is that they are dangerous, they seem to be
conveniently forgetting that the heaviest vehicles per size are EV's,
for example the most popular Tesla is the Model X which weighs approx
2450kg, about 500kg heavier than ICE SUV's of the same size.
If they are going to charge for parking based on weight then EV owners
are going to be paying the most.

A large proportion of utes on the road are fashion accessories rather

advertising, showing happy families heading off through the bush,

suspect that the manufacturers made a much bigger profit on such a

The question should be why do the manufacturers think that its cool to
make their 2WD utes look like 4WD's in that both are the same ride
height, many utes that look like 4WD's actually are 2WD.
The 2009 Hilux I used to own was a RWD dual cab turbo diesel with a
manual trans but the closest equivalent that they make now is a "high
rider" or some such other bullshit name, its still RWD only but it looks
like a 4WD.
My son's electrical business owns 3 Hiluxes, all single cab 2WD with
trays, at least with the base model they still come at a lower ride
height which are much better for working out of.

Nothing to do with advertising, the popularity of dual cab utes has a
everything to do with being FBT exempt if they have a load capacity of
more than 1 tonne.
They are also very practical, my grand kids both have motorbikes as do
many of their friends so their parents need something to transport them
to the track and a BMW M3 which is my son's other car is hardly suitable
for towing.
Like Trev you really don't know what people use their vehicles for, in
my experience of knowing many people who own utes is that they either
use them for towing or for work.
In my immediate area there are 32 properties, out of all the vehicles
there are only 4 utes that I know of, one is owned by a mobile mechanic,
another has Kennards Hire signage and the other 2 are private as far as
I can tell, since most houses have at least 2 cars 4 utes out of approx
64 vehicles is a low percentage.

Who said I do? Certainly not me :)

For the record, I don't know, or *care* what anyone else does with the
vehicle they choose to buy, and the argument that vehicles have an
"intended purpose" is a complete and utter nonsense. The purpose of any
given vehicle is exactly what it's owner *wants* it to be, and why that
should be anyone else's business is nothing but a complete load of shit.

You have no idea what anyone does with their vehicles and form your
conclusions based on what you see for a few seconds at traffic lights,
and to be brutally honest anyone who owns an MX5 claiming that other
people buy cars as "fashion accessories" is doing nothing but taking the
piss :)

Utter bullshit, you have no way of knowing why people buy what they
buy or what they use them for, you are just being a wanker.
A large proportion of utes on the road are fashion accessories
rather than work vehicles, it seems like a dual cab 4x4 ute is now
the best option as a family car. The perception is pushed by the
manufacturers advertising, showing happy families heading off
through the bush, camping by mountain lakes, something that very few
will ever do.
ROTFL :)
How the hell would you have the *slightest* idea what anyone other
than yourself uses their vehicle for? :)
Probably the same was as you do.
Well, your vehicle is quite clearly a penile prosthetic and that is
quite clearly what *you* want it to be.

"Ute" is as much a specifically Australian term as "Bakkie" is in
South Africa, and in fact the two terms were used to describe the exact
same vehicle in different countries. Both Holden and Ford utes built in
Australia were exported to South Africa in the 60's and 70's and given
"American" names like "El Camino" and "Ranchero", but the locals called
them "Bakkies" just like they do today with the Hilux, the Triton or the
Ranger.

Ah, here's your true colours coming out. For a start, the MX5 serves the
purpose intended by its manufacturer - convey two people and their
luggage with the added abilities of better handling and braking, the
ability to put the roof down - and just being able to enjoy motoring.
Given the sales of the MX5, I'd say it was spectacularly successful.
Post by Noddy
you probably think the same thing about dual cab utes.
I doubt it. The dual cab utes were designed for a purpose - to convey a
crew of workers, their tools and materials and be able to tow a sizeable
trailer. Some need the 4x4 facility, some do not. Your Ranger hardly
fulfills the purpose it was designed for. FFS, have you even had it in a
serious 4x4 environment yet. No, your backyard doesn't count.

Interesting factoid, Toyota first introduced the Hilux as a double cab
(or crew cab as we called it) way back in 1981. But I was hacking around
in Hilux double cab utes as far back as 1976, though they may have been
around prior to then. These units were modified single cab Hiluxes with
a locally (WA) manufactured cab rear section grafted on. The reason we
called these units crew cabs was precisely because they needed to cart
around a work crew as well as tools and parts. Spent countless hours
going from site to site in one of these dual cab Hiluxes, especially
when I was working with the Shovel Breakdown crew at Newman.

Yeah but the MX5 takes up minimal space on the road - your poseur truck
takes up way more by comparison - and it's still only carting you and,
on occasion, one other person in that 5 seat cabin. You're not running a
business, well, not a legitimate one anyway, and you don't have a crew
of workers to haul, so your choice of vehicle is way overkill for your
needs - except perhaps the needs of your overinflated ego. Man, does
that ever need massaging, positive strokes, and all that!

I don't know what rock you are hiding under but utes based on cars
are dinosaurs that you can no longer buy, generally speaking most
of them are less fuel efficient than modern Jap utes, only
exception would be the older utes than ran on LPG and those are
getting rare.
The Aussie ute was something that only really existed here. Now that
there are no more vehicles specially made for the local market, it's
not surprising that they are no longer available.
They're no longer available because like the sedans & wagons they were
based on their popularity declined in light of the more appealing
vehicles on offer in competition.

almost everywhere other than here they are pickup trucks.

How the hell would you have the *slightest* idea what anyone other than
yourself uses their vehicle for? :)
Well, for a start, you could look at registration types. It's a fair bet
a commercially registered ute would be used for *work*. Company
registered vehicles, another way of checking, especially now that log
books must be kept thanks to the FBT, are likely to be used for work.

At least the toll companies make you ute drivers pay through the nose at
*light commercial rates* (LCV) regardless of the reg. type. You get to
pay LCV rates *all the time*, not even a discount for weekends so even
the weekend warriors get stung. ;-)
Now, if you had been less of a wanker (yeah, I know, difficult for you),
a trailer attached to a car travels for car rates, inc. weekend
discounts. The advantage, you can drive around all day long in the
comfort of a sedan and only ever attach the trailer when it's needed to
cart your *stuff*. Bonus, eh? Of course that wouldn't address your dire
need to have people think you have big balls but, them's the breaks! ;-)

I suspect that the manufacturers made a much bigger profit on such a
vehicle than on a family car or wagon.
They probably have in the past, but I'm not sure if that holds true today.
If you aren't sure/don't know, why make the comment?

Yeah man, this is a breath of fresh air.
For too long have these eka war machines clogged the roads and parking
spaces.
These oozing-testosterone wagons are one up on the "Pajeros", another
road blocker driven by Frigid Midgets with Rigid Digits, to the angst
of all other drivers.
Tax 'em to hell..!
Nope. That's way too lenient. I'd have 'em put into the crusher.
Ideally with their mouth-breathing owners locked inside.

**Can't argue with that idea.
After we get rid if all the diesel utes don't expect any tradies
to come and fix anything at your house or business, are they going
to carry their tools on their backs.
**Bullshit. For decades tradies used real utes, based on Commodores
and Falcons with enormous success.
I don't know what rock you are hiding under but utes based on cars
are dinosaurs that you can no longer buy, generally speaking most of
them are less fuel efficient than modern Jap utes, only exception
would be the older utes than ran on LPG and those are getting rare.
The Aussie ute was something that only really existed here. Now that
there are no more vehicles specially made for the local market, it's not
surprising that they are no longer available. I know that there were a
couple of American attempts at something similar, but they were the
exception, most overseas utes were/are really small trucks, in fact
almost everywhere other than here they are pickup trucks.
Pretty much!

My local plumber seems very happy with
Post by Trevor Wilson
the carrying capacity and functionality of his Hi-Ace. My local
builder uses a proper truck, rather than a pretend one, for
carrying HUGE loads.
Both the Hiace and "proper truck" are as big if not bigger than many
of the common utes.
The question is why a tradie who has been using a tray backed 2x4 HiLux
for years suddenly needs a 4x4 D-Max or Ranger.
My neighbour opposite has a 4x4 Hilux but, as a landscaper, I daresay he
could justify a 4x4. For most tradies, a 2x4 would be more than adequate
and, at that, would be easier to load stuff over the side as they are
lower than a typical 4x4 ute. I recently saw a 2x4 Navara ute recently
and was surprised at how low it was compared to the hulker 4x4 utes. And
then the wanker jack up the suspensions on their 4x4 utes by 2-4 inches,
sometimes more. FFS, it's hard enough to even climb into those much less
toss gear over the sides. Darren would really be knackered if he jacked
his Ranger up more than it already is. He had to *slide* into the front
seat of his Navara as it was. What's more, the jacking makes the 4x4
much less suitable for highway cruising - stability issues and all that!

**Correct, but they are fit for purpose. Most utes are not used for
their original design intent. They are just used for shopping of
collecting the kids from school.
Utter bullshit, you have no way of knowing why people buy what they
buy or what they use them for, you are just being a wanker.
A large proportion of utes on the road are fashion accessories rather
than work vehicles, it seems like a dual cab 4x4 ute is now the best
Fashion accessory or penis extender. Or both. Darren has a pretend
business so his Ranger is a pretend work ute serving most of its life
running his kid to school or himself to the coffee shop. Funny thing,
most of the time a trailer of modest size would better serve the
function most of these wanker utes are put to.

option as a family car. The perception is pushed by the manufacturers
advertising, showing happy families heading off through the bush,
camping by mountain lakes, something that very few will ever do. I
Most of those people will not dare venture off the blacktop.

Don't forget the aftermarket industry with all those warranty voiding
off road accessories.

No, they'll probably be driving something that's actually designed for
them rather than for middle-aged & elderly men who are trying to wind
back the clock to pretend to be something that they never were. A *real*
tradie wants something that they can easily access from three sides.
Even at his maximum claimed height your loathsome little mate would
probably have to use a ladder to reach over the side of the tub. And get
in and out of the stupid things cabin.
