Seems like a mechanised way to do something more slowly than it could be
done manually. And I say that having had experience doing it manually.

Nothing astonishes Noddy so much as common sense and plain dealing.

Pull the piano wire around by hand. Quick and easy.

A less intensive and quicker way of doing it.

You don't use "piano wire". You use nylon fishing line if you're going
to adopt the line cutting technique, and it's never been "quick and
easy" which is precisely why machines like this came about some years ago.

Had this expert on everything had any relevant experience he would know
this :)

Piano wire was/is the generic term used for wire that cuts another
substance.

I was getting relevant experience during my apprenticeship when you had
barely started school. Think back to when Ford began to glue the
windscreens in, yes, that’s when I was gaining relevant experience. Where
were you in the late 60s, early 70s when I was fitting hundreds of
windscreens? Let me guess, you were failing at primary school in readiness
for your failure in high school!

Basically, just less time setting up and packing away the tools.

Coincidentally, those were the last words that Benito Mussolini heard.

Pull the piano wire around by hand. I've done it a few times, including
the windscreen in the crashed Commodore (the one with laminate on the
outside, Do'h :-).

It not hard but if you're doing them all the time such a tool would be
very handy.

Modern to you.
I suppose you have one on display for all those windscreens you never do.
